@MarktaviousMusic I’m not licensed to perform any sort of procedure on anyone. All I do is share my personal experiences with at-home chemical peels to help those who need information.

This is a great video (and I’ve watched about 10 thus far). So informative. Thank you for sharing. I’m about to try a glycolic peel for the first time in my life. The only thing I’m not sure of is when to do it. I can’t imagine having to come to work with my skin peeling AND not being able to cover it up with makeup. Lord have mercy. At the same time, I don’t want to take 2 weeks off from work to do this… *sigh* just not sure when to do it. Gonna order it now, though.

contd. I am in my 30s and have bad acne and hyperpigmentation. I’m also doing a total lifestyle change, starting to drink water (something I never did) and eat vegetables and more fiber to better cleanse my insides (sorry for the TMI… lol). I’m also dropping all my OTC products (Neutrogena and Proactiv) and going natural (African black soap, witch hazel as toner, and shea butter as moisturizer/healing medication). I’m praying that all this, plus the peel, will help.

what kit did you purchase from the original skin store and how much did it cost? Also did you use a neutralizer?

@mzerin6151 For my face, the TCA 15%. For my body: the Jessner or TCA 25%. No neutralizer was required. It’s up to the individual if they’d like to add some sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) to the rinsing water.

Can you dilute a peel with water to make it less strong?

Water will decrease the acidity of the peel, but I don’t have any idea how you would measure that.

Hello! Thanks for posting all of your chemical peel videos. I have to admit that your TCA 15% application video had me laughing so hard! I know it’s not funny when your experiencing the application, but I have done the same TCA 15% peel myself, so I knew what you were experiencing. Like yourself, I have used the q-tips for my application and it does take way too long. So thanks for the tip on using the cotton pad, I will try that method on my next peel. Thanks again for making my laugh!

You’re videos on chemical peels are a so helpful! Thank you so much. I have a few questions about doing a peel on my back. I had breakouts on my back for a few years but I managed to clear them up. I rarely breakout now BUT I have terribley hideous scars. I’ve tried a 70% glycolic peel that I left on for 5 minutes as a patch test on my back. It stung like crazy but it wasn’t alarming. It’s been about 3 days and I haven’t noticed any sort of peeling. Should I wait longer? If it doesn’t work shou

Great video! It was very helpful, thank you. :)
You answered all of my questions but one.
I have been dealing with some bad scarring due to chicken pox and acne, and although they aren’t too deep, they are very ugly. I am wondering, and I am sure that others are wondering too, what kind of an impact these TCA at home chemical peels have on scars.
Have you ever had problems with scarring in the past? and
Which type of peel do you think would work best?

@MissyJD94 Hi! I’ve never had an issue with scarring in terms of texture only hyperpigmentation. I don’t really know if the TCA will be effective at resurfacing the skin, so I would advise to do some research. A stronger peel may be able to give you the results you want. Hope that helped :-)

@free84angel After the skin has peeled fully, you can wear makeup (preferably with an spf)

hello, im dark brown skined, and i have acne scars would you recommend a 15% tca peel for me or a different peel im trying to get rid of the acne scars i have its my first time? thanks

@chillel1218 I would suggest starting off with the 8% and seeing how that works for you. If all goes well and you you want to use a stronger one, then the 15% would be the way to go.
